Founded by Shepton Mallet student Matt Crowcombe during his gap year to South Africa in 2003, SOS Africa has received invaluable support from businesses, schools and community groups from Shepton Mallet and beyond.
In April 2013 Matt and his family opened a charity shop and fundraising headquarters on Shepton Mallet High Street. Since that day, thanks to growing numbers of staff, volunteers, customers and fundraisers, the charity’s fundraising efforts have flourished, enabling the organisation to provide life-changing educational support to growing numbers of disadvantaged children across South Africa.
