MCCU provides simple savings accounts and affordable loans to people living and/or working in the Mendip area (including the BA4 postcode). MCCU is run entirely by local volunteers so there’s always a friendly person to talk to about how to achieve your financial aims, whether it’s to pay off high interest loans or visit family in Australia!
We know how important it is for everyone to have some savings for that ‘rainy day’ – and there’s no minimum amount you can save with MCCU. The more you have saved with us, the cheaper the starting interest rate on any loans. And your savings are always safe – they’re covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
We’d love to run a regular service point in Shepton again – if you can help us do this by committing to a couple of hours each month, we could get it started. Until then, we have service points in the libraries in Wells, Glastonbury and Frome every Saturday morning – see our website for details or give us a ring. Once you’ve joined, most things can be organised via email, text or phone.
